6 Secret steps WE use to produce NEW Looking refurbished wheels!
Refurbishing wheels to make them look like new ain’t easy. But at Powder-flo Bradford we have it all covered.
So we had these Audi A3 S-Line wheels in over the last week for a make over. They came to us poorly previously painted in black and suffered badly from kerb damage.
The owner – Robert made his way over from Leeds in his Audi A3 to have his alloy wheels refurbished. We swapped our FREE loans wheels over on to his car, meaning he could drive away and utilise his car whilst we worked on his wheels- Very convenient 
1 – We start with removing the tyres from the wheels and all consumables such as weights and valves.
2 – For a proper job, we always strip all existing paint and coatings in our HOT acid bath. check the photos to see how we’ve got the wheels down to bare metal – giving an excellent canvas to start from! No adhesion or flaking issues now!
3 – Following the acid strip – Roberts wheels had the kerb damage repaired and TIG welded where needed – The wheels where then totally ‘sand blasted’ with our fine blast media. All corrosion, pitting and grime is removed by this process, giving a very smooth surface to apply our coating.
4 – 3 Stage powder coating process applied to the wheel. We start with a powder primer, a colour coat and finished with OEM quality acrylic clear. Our experienced coaters, paint every part of the wheel including the outer barrel! Check out that gloss!
5 – Finally, with the wheels coated and cooled after a baking process. Tyres are refitted, balanced with our long lasting coated weights (We avoid cheaper zinc weights as they oxidize quickly leaving a undesirable look).
6 – Robert made his way back down to us – and we swapped our loan wheels over to his freshly refurbished set!
